What sights to see in Egypt?

Hello! With what word do you associate such country as Egypt? I guess most of us can say “pyramids”. Actually yes, Egypt is famous because of big amount of its pyramids. But in Egypt pyramids are not the only sights. Today we’d like to tell you about some “must-visit” sights of Egypt which intrigues by its own beauty, mystery and antiquity. May be some of you will interest in them and decide to travel to Egypt. Let’s begin!

The Egyptian Pyramids. The majestic ancient constructions are about 5000 years old. The tombs of powerful pharaohs keep a big amount of secrets. There are a lot of suggestions around these pyramids. Some people even think that these constructions were build by aliens.

The Big Sphinx. A statue of a gigantic lion with human being’s face of 73m in length and 21m in height. Inside the statue is hollow. Such constructions served as places for executions or sacrifice, that’s why the Egyptians call the Big Sphinx as “the Father/King of Horror”. Also it symbolized redemption and catastrophe which, according to ancient beliefs, should come from heavens.

Luxor Temple. It’s one of the greatest creations of Ancient Egypt’s civilization, where the central place belongs to God Amun-Ra. It has differences in monumental architecture, elegant bas-reliefs, high columns and majestic statues of Gods. People began to build the temple at the period of New Kingdom of Egypt rise and power at Amenhotep III.

The Nile. It’s one of the largest rivers of Africa with length about 7000km. And Nile gave a sign for development of the Ancient Egypt’s civilization. The valleys of the Nile let the people grow the vegetables, develop some systems of irrigation and think about new engineering designs.
